Income Protection
You’ve got a life. We’ve got it covered.
Income Protection Insurance provides an entitlement to help you and your family cope financially if you are ill and unable to work for a long period of time.
You should be aware that Casual employees are not eligible for Income Protection Insurance.
The entitlement provides a fortnightly income, after a three-month waiting period, of 75% of your salary for up to 24 months. It is worked out as 75% of the product of your salary and your Salary Adjustment Factor.
The entitlement will be reduced if you are receiving workers’ compensation and/or Centrelink payments or other income for your illness or injury.
There may be restrictions placed on this income if your illness is related to a pre-existing medical condition. Please refer to the “Insurance” section of the PDS for more information.
The cost of Income Protection Insurance is paid by your employer.
To make a claim, contact Super SA. It may take up to three weeks before you know the outcome. If it's likely to take longer than this, Super SA will let you know.
