Insurance can help ease the financial burden on you or your family in case of your illness, injury or death.

As a SA Ambulance Scheme standard contributory member you’re automatically covered by Income Protection and Death and Total and Permanent Disablement insurance.

Check your Annual Statement in the secure member area to find out how much you’re currently covered for and then use the My Future Insurance Calculator to work out whether it’s enough to meet you and your family’s needs should the unexpected happen.

Do I have enough insurance?

If you’re a standard contributory member and you think the level of the standard Death and Total and Permanent Disablement entitlement provided by the Scheme isn't enough to meet your needs, you may like to consider voluntary insurance cover.

Non-contributory members can also take out additional voluntary insurance.

You can select up to four units of voluntary insurance cover, at a cost of $1.60 per week per unit. You are able to update your cover at any time but the value of each unit decreases with age. Conditions may apply to your voluntary cover.

Casual employees working less than nine hours a week are not eligible for Death of TPD cover.

For more information go to the Death and TPD section.
